This is a crop of my recent digital illustration self portrait. This piece will be in the Accident Gallery’s Biannual Erotic Show this upcoming Month.

I chose to do a nude self portrait because I wanted to challenge myself. My first thought was to make a “Provocative” scene with some beautiful T & A. I even had a hot photo reference lined up… but after much internal debate I realized that doing a nude self portrait is a step that must be overcome/achieved by most artists in their lifetime. So instead of doing some gratuitous sex scene I decided to do a much more introspective piece. I may not be touching myself but I am allowing the viewer into my private space… I also tried to push the limits of the style I have been developing in the last couple of years. I am surprised how much it looks like a painting, yet it definitely has its own quality. You can do some wonders with a Camera, a Wacom Tablet and Photoshop.
