My Story
The first ten years of life were spent growing up in a rural town in central Mexico where I learned to appreciate the values of a culturally rich and community based environment. At the age of 10 I was relocated to the bustling metropolis of Southern California. Experiencing the opportunities and commodities that can only be offered in a city setting was exciting but more importantly it was there that I first witnessed true diversity in the vast number of people and ethnic communities that abound. After high school I moved to Northern California to study, and after a few great years I graduated in May 2007 from Humboldt State University with a degree in fine art and art history. During my final semester I received the award for “ Outstanding student in fine arts 2006-2007” and received a commission from the city of Arcata, to design and build a permanent public sculpture made of steel and cast bronze which was installed in May 2007 in the town's square. Erecting a public sculpture in the city where I earned my degree has been a true honor. My goal as an artist is to continue to use my talent as a tool to enrich communities throughout the Americas and the rest of the world.
